Urinary catheter care at home in Madrid
A delicate kind of care, in delicate hands
Placement and changes with complete privacy. Without the journeys nobody enjoys.
Why at your home
The most intimate care is best given behind your own door
Travelling with the catheter, waiting your turn and explaining your case to someone new each time adds weight to a care that is already delicate. At home it happens calmly, discreetly, with the door closed.
- 01
In your bedroom, not a corridor
We arrive in plain clothes, no uniforms announcing anything, and the moment stays between you and the person caring for you. No shared rooms, no extra eyes.
- 02
The catheter change comes to you
Crossing Madrid with a catheter and a bag is uncomfortable and more exposing than it should be. We keep the calendar, and the change happens at home, on its date.
- 03
If something goes wrong, you're not alone
The same professional at every visit and a direct WhatsApp line for the fever, the leak or the doubt at odd hours. You know who to write to — and that person knows your case.
The complete catheter cycle
From placement to removal, without leaving home
Placement, scheduled change and removal, with your doctor's prescription and the same professional following the case from start to finish.
- 01
Catheter placement
With a medical prescription, sterile technique and all the calm the moment calls for. We explain every step before taking it.
With prescription - 02
Scheduled change
Permanent catheters are changed every few weeks depending on the type. We keep the calendar and let you know beforehand.
We remind you of the date - 03
Catheter removal
When your doctor says so, we remove the catheter at home and stay attentive until everything is back to normal.
Single visit - 04
Care and education
Daily hygiene, handling the drainage bag and warning signs: we teach whoever does the caring, so the day-to-day stays easy.
For the carer
Nasogastric tube or another device? Tell us about your case on WhatsApp: if it falls within our remit, we take it on; if not, we tell you who to turn to.
How we do it
The technique is learned. The tact is practised.
A catheterisation is not just a procedure — it is a vulnerable moment for the person receiving it. That is why our protocol has two halves, the sterile one and the human one, and both are always kept.
- The same professional at every change, who already knows the case
- Never rushed — the visit lasts as long as it needs to
- Door closed, only what is essential uncovered, always with respect
- We arrive in plain clothes; nobody in the building will know why we came
- Whoever does the caring leaves the visit knowing what to do and what to watch

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about catheter care at home
And for your specific case, a discreet WhatsApp conversation clears it all up.
How often is a urinary catheter changed?
It depends on the material: latex catheters are usually changed every 3-4 weeks and silicone ones can last up to 2-3 months, always following your doctor's instructions. We keep the calendar and let you know when the change is coming, so the date never slips.
Does catheterisation hurt?
The idea troubles people more than the act: with proper lubrication, correct technique and no rushing, it's an uncomfortable but brief and bearable procedure. Doing it at home, with privacy and time, makes it far easier than in a clinic with a queue.
What warning signs should I watch for with a catheter?
Fever, cloudy or foul-smelling urine, heavy bleeding, new pain, leaks around the catheter or urine stopping altogether: with any of these, call your medical team or call us. On the first visit we leave this list in writing with whoever cares for you.
Can I ask for a female or a male nurse?
Yes: we understand that in such an intimate procedure comfort matters, and we try to accommodate your preference when assigning the professional. Say so without hesitation when you write — nobody will ask you to explain.
How much does catheter care at home cost in Madrid?
It depends on the type of visit (placement, change or removal) and your area; the price is fixed, agreed beforehand, and travel is included. The WhatsApp consultation is free and confidential.
